Ilana Visotsky was born in Sweden and was raised in Israel. She graduated from The School of Visual Arts in New York City with a BFA in Fine Arts. She has additional education from the Art Student League. Ilana resides in New Jersey, with her husband, son, and daughter. Ilana depicts a mood using natural light and a thoughtful color palate. Ilana’s extensive background in the field of color draws upon her study of modern artists, particularly Matisse, Monet, and Van Gogh, as well as contemporary artists such as David Hockney, Elizabeth Osborn, and Peter Doig. She chooses her colors sensibly to dictate the atmosphere in her paintings. Her subject matter encompasses a variety of topics, including domesticity, interior spaces, and nature.
